Penistone is a Fairtrade Town! - After two years of campaigning, Penistone has been officially recognised as a Fairtrade Town by the Fairtrade Foundation.
"This is a great achievement for the town and for everyone involved in the campaign..." said Nick Waterfield for Penistone and District Community Partnership, "...it is just over two years since we started this campaign, and now Penistone has joined a list of just over 220 towns and cities in the country that have won Fairtrade town status. Where Penistone has led the way, we hope that soon the rest of Barnsley will follow, by supporting the Fairtrade movement."
Carolyn Morris who chairs the Fairtrade in Penistone campaign says "Buying Fairtrade products is a really simple way to ensure that trade is working for farmers and workers in developing countries."
