Eat well, age well
Age Concern have released a CD entitled 'Eat well. age well', that contains a power-point presentation which can be used as a loop run or as a presentation. Leaflets at a cost of £10 per 100 accompany the CD. These are available from Age Concern, please click on the link www.ageconcern.org.uk.
Age Concern Barnsley - Grocery Home Delivery Service
A borough wide provision enabling older people who are house bound, or restricted by health with carrying or walking to obtain grocery requirements from a local supermarket. Co-ordinated by Age Concern Barnsley, supported by BMBC Social Services.

Malnutrition Among Older People in the Community
This report puts forward a set of policy recommendations for addressing the problem of malnutrition among older people in the community. The prevelance of malnutrition is particularly high in older people. It affects 10% of the population aged 65 years and above. Over half the costs of malnutrition are expended on people aged 65 and over and older people are less likely to recover from malnutrition. Studies have shown that up to 40% of patients are malnourished upon admission to hospital. Malnutrition is severely unrecognised in hospitals, nursing homes and the community.
